Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Embedded Robotics Engineer based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to build advanced robotic systems that combine software engineering, automation, and intelligent hardware integration.
You will contribute to the development of autonomous platforms by working across perception, control, motion planning, and real-time systems.
The position provides ownership across the robotics software lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing and field deployment.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to transform complex requirements into reliable, production-ready solutions.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer passionate about robotics innovation, autonomous technologies, and solving challenging technical problems.
You will work in a remote environment while contributing to impactful projects that push the boundaries of modern robotic systems.

Accountabilities

As an Embedded Robotics Engineer, you will design, develop, and integrate software systems that enable autonomous robotic platforms. You will work across the robotics technology stack, applying strong engineering practices to deliver scalable, reliable solutions while collaborating with teams across product, engineering, and operations.

    • Develop and integrate embedded software systems for autonomous robots and robotic platforms.
    • Build solutions across robotics domains including sensor integration, perception, localization, motion planning, control, and behavioral systems.
    • Design, implement, test, and maintain high-quality software using modern engineering practices.
    • Develop and optimize robotics applications using C++ and Python.
    • Apply robotics frameworks such as ROS and ROS 2 to support production-level systems.
    • Implement and improve sensor fusion approaches, including Kalman filters, particle filters, and related techniques.
    • Debug complex real-time, concurrent, and embedded system issues.
    • Support simulation, hardware integration, and field testing activities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions.
    • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, documentation efforts, and mentorship of less experienced engineers.
    • Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong robotics software engineering experience, excellent programming skills, and the ability to work across both software and hardware environments. You should be comfortable solving complex technical challenges while contributing to reliable autonomous systems.

      • 5+ years of experience in robotics software engineering or a related field.
      • Strong programming proficiency in C++ and Python.
      • Hands-on production experience with ROS or ROS 2.
      • Experience with at least one core robotics area, including perception, localization, motion planning, or control.
      • Knowledge of sensor fusion techniques and estimation methods such as Kalman and particle filters.
      • Experience working with robotics simulation environments such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MuJoCo.
      • Strong debugging skills across real-time and concurrent systems.
      • Experience supporting hardware integration and field testing activities.
      • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
      • Advanced degree in Robotics or a related discipline is a plus.
      • Experience with autonomous vehicles, drones, industrial automation, safety-critical software standards, or machine learning-based perception systems is preferred.
      • Familiarity with open-source robotics contributions is a plus.
      • Benefits:

        • Competitive annual salary range of approximately $125,000 – $145,000 USD.
        • Fully remote work opportunity within the United States.
        • Full-time direct employment opportunity.
        • Opportunity to work on advanced robotics and autonomous technology projects.
        • Career growth opportunities within an established technology-focused environment.
        • Exposure to cutting-edge robotics frameworks, simulation tools, and engineering practices.
        • Collaborative culture focused on innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
