About the company and the role At Lendurai, we enable unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to operate independently of global navigation satellite systems and radio control, using computer vision and machine learning.
We partner with multiple UAV manufacturers to deliver cost effective capabilities to public sector and defence customers.
Our core team has substantial experience in aerospace engineering and developing computer vision applications across Europe, including at companies like Bolt (EE), Open Cosmos (UK), and Starship Technologies (EE).
What you will be doing System architecture design - defining how hardware, software, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols all fit together.
Managing functional and non-functional requirements, maintaining traceability from system to subsystem level throughout the development lifecycle Requirements engineering - translating customer or product needs into precise technical specifications for subsystems.
Working with engineering managers to turn requirements into reality.
Tender support - Lead and coordinate tender and proposal responses for government and commercial customers, ensuring technical clarity and compliance with bid requirements Interface management - owning the "contracts" between teams and subsystems (e.g., how the UAV talks to the Ground Control System) Integration & testing - bringing subsystems together and verifying the combined system behaves correctly by defining proportionate Verification and Validation strategies and ensuring test plans maintain clear traceability to requirements Failure analysis - diagnosing why a system fails and designing mitigations (redundancy, fault detection, etc.) We are looking for Required skills: Degree in product development, mechanical or aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, electronics or similar field 4+ years in a systems engineering role within aerospace, defence, robotics, or an adjacent domain Experience with UAV, UAS, or autonomous vehicles Experience with functional safety, development assurance, safety lifecycle or similar standards Able to work independently and exercise sound judgement in a small, fast-moving team Additional skills that are nice to have: Hands-on involvement in defence procurement, dual-use regulatory frameworks, or government tender writing Comfortable with formal requirements management practices and tools What we offer Monthly gross salary €4,000-6,500 based on experience and impact Stock options Ability to influence major technical decisions as an early hire A focus on outcomes Join Lendurai to be part of the forefront of defence technology innovation.
