About the role

We’re building rugged, high-performance off-road robotic vehicles and we’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to turn vehicles into real-world systems that deliver critical capabilities to soldiers in the field.

In this hands-on role, you’ll take ideas from concept to deployment, integrating complex payloads, and ensuring our systems perform under the toughest conditions. This isn’t just CAD work. You’ll be shaping systems that make a real difference on the ground.

Your Profile

  • 5+ years building real mechanical systems (robotics, automotive, machinery, or similar)
  • Think like a user: optimize designs for field performance, serviceability, and real-world operations
  • You’ve integrated complex systems, not just designed standalone parts
  • Design systems with a keen eye on electrical integration, mechanical stresses, and spatial constraints under dynamic operation in harsh environments
  • Strong CAD skills (Autodesk Inventor preferred), but you know CAD is just a tool
  • You understand fabrication in the real world (CNC, sheet metal, welding, etc.)
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and biased toward action
  • You take ownership and don’t wait for perfect specs
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes messy startup environment
  • Strong problem-solver who can debug issues across disciplines
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus)
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build mechanical systems for off-road robotic platforms, leading the system design, not just the parts
  • Own the design and integration of complex payloads (sensors, manipulators, radars and cameras) into and onto UGVs
  • Figure out how to mount, protect, power, and package payloads under real-world constraints (shock, dust, water, heat)
  • Define mechanical interfaces that actually work outside the lab
  • Work side-by-side with electrical and software engineers to make full systems function reliably
  • Rapidly prototype, test, break, and improve designs
  • Make smart trade-offs between performance, usability, weight, cost, and manufacturability
  • Take designs all the way to production.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • A shaping role in an emerging dual use company
  • Opportunity to work with a highly innovative, international, and dynamic team
  • Room for professional growth and development
  • Participation in the company's success, with access to regular events, knowledge exchange and meetups
