Role Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for all mechanical aspects of the product, working closely with hardware, production, operations, and product teams.
The role includes technical leadership of complex mechanical designs, including:
- Design from scratch alongside retrofitting and improving existing designs.
- Complex thermal management.
- Withstanding dynamic profiles (mainly vehicle-related and wind loads).
- Protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI/EMC).
- Design for sealing.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in a multidisciplinary environment (significant advantage for experience in the defense industry).
- Proven experience in the technical leadership of complex products and systems development from the concept phase, through characterization, to serial production and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Proven experience in advanced engineering design to withstand static, dynamic, and thermal loads.
- Deep familiarity with thermal materials, including the use of thermal pads, thermal grease/paste, thermally conductive adhesives, heat pipes, vapor chambers, and more - MUST
- Deep familiarity with military standards (MIL-STD) and sealing standards (e.g., IP66/67), including knowledge and experience in vibration and thermal testing - MUST
- Experience in electronic packaging, including design for printed circuit boards (PCB).
- Broad knowledge of production technologies (CNC machining, casting, injection molding, etc.) and proven ability to implement DFM/DFA processes.
- Experience in technical work with subcontractors in Israel and abroad, including defining engineering requirements, writing SOWs, and supervising execution.
- Proven experience in preparing, leading, and presenting design reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR) internally and externally to customers.
- High-level proficiency in CAD software (with an emphasis on SolidWorks) and experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Ability to work independently, broad system-level vision, and the ability to provide engineering solutions to complex challenges.
Advantages
- Knowledge and experience in analysis software (such as SolidWorks Simulation) for performing dynamic, static, and thermal/heat dissipation analyses.
- Specific experience in developing radar, radio, communication, or C4I (Command & Control) systems.
