Job description
About Airbound
Our mission is to make a world where everyone has access to delivery. Where goods move as freely as information moves today.
This is possible. Today the cost of moving on a scooter is ₹2/km. That’s the cost of moving a 150kg mass from point A to B. We’re bringing that mass down to less than 5kgs, concurrently bringing the cost down to 10 paise/km. This is how we make deliveries a reality. This is how we create a world where we’re doing billions of deliveries per day.
The tech is not there. The current cost of drone delivery is ₹100/km. We need to completely redefine the way things are done here. We’re building the world’s most efficient aircraft from the ground-up, and scaling that up to beyond anything the aerospace sector has ever seen. This cannot be an iterative process. We have to tear down all conventions and build everything up from scratch.
To do this, we need nothing less than the best engineers. The ones who care about building something fundamentally different, who are deeply curious about understanding the fundamentals of everything they’re working on, who are dreamers that believe in the impossible.
Key Responsibilities
Field Maintenance — Carry out scheduled and on-demand maintenance on deployed aircraft — battery checks, motor checks, propeller changes, sensor calibration, harness inspection
Pre-Flight & Post-Flight Checks — Run proper checks before every mission; debrief and log findings after the flight; flag anything that needs deeper repair
Troubleshooting & Quick Fixes — Find and fix mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues in the field; do repairs within scope; escalate when needed
Spares & Inventory — Manage spares, consumables, and tools at the deployment site; raise requests to HQ before stock runs out
Coordination with Flight Ops — Work with Pilots, Dispatchers, and the Flight Ops Admin to keep missions on schedule; clearly share the aircraft's status
Feedback to Manufacturing — Be the eyes and ears of the production team in the field; report repeat failures so they can be fixed at the source
Mobility — Travel between AP and Karnataka deployment sites as needed

2-3 years of hands-on experience in the UAV / drone industry — assembly, MRO, field ops, or service
Good hand skills and comfort with small-part repair, soldering, crimping, and fastener work

Willingness to be deployed in AP or Karnataka as per the role
For AP-deployed roles: Native or fluent Telugu speaker, preferably from Guntur, Vijayawada, or nearby districts
For Bangalore-deployed role: Based in or open to relocating to Bangalore; Kannada speaking ability is a strong plus
Good to Have
ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related trade
