As Lead of FP&A, you will be the central driver of financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision support at ARX Robotics. Reporting directly to the Director Finance, you will build and lead the FP&A function, deliver actionable financial insights to the leadership team, and ensure robust planning processes that support the company's growth trajectory in the European defense market.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Own and drive the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning
- Develop and maintain integrated financial models covering P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Coordinate cross-functional input from engineering, operations, commercial, and HR to build consolidated plans
Business Performance Analysis
- Deliver monthly and quarterly financial performance reporting to the C-Level and board
- Conduct variance analysis (actuals vs. budget vs. forecast) and provide clear, actionable commentary
- Track and report on key financial and operational KPIs across the business
Strategic Decision Support
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Director Finance, CFO and wider leadership team
- Provide financial analysis and business cases for strategic initiatives, including new product launches, market entry, partnerships, and M&A opportunities
- Model and evaluate different growth scenarios and their financial implications
Revenue & Project Controlling
- Support revenue forecasting and project-level financial tracking in collaboration with commercial and program management teams
- Analyze project margins, milestone-based revenue recognition, and advance payment structures
- Drive visibility into unit economics and fully loaded cost structures
Working Capital & Cash Flow
- Oversee cash flow planning and forecasting in collaboration with the Treasury Manager
- Monitor working capital KPIs (DSO, DPO, DIO) and drive optimization initiatives
- Ensure alignment between operational plans and liquidity requirements
Team Leadership & Process Building
- Build, lead, and develop the FP&A team as the company scales
- Establish scalable FP&A processes, tools, and reporting standards
- Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of planning and BI tools
- Foster a data-driven culture across the finance function and the broader organization
Stakeholder & Investor Reporting
- Prepare financial materials for board meetings, investor updates, and funding rounds
- Support the Director Finance and CFO in external reporting requirements and stakeholder communication
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial narratives across all reporting channels
Your Profile
- Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus
- 6-10+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or management consulting with a strong financial focus
- Proven track record of building or significantly scaling an FP&A function
- Deep expertise in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business case development
- Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow dynamics
- Experience with project-based or milestone-driven revenue models is highly desirable
- Proficiency in ERP systems and modern FP&A/BI tools (e.g., SAP 4/Hana Public Cloud, Looker Studios, or similar)
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills - ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage
- Leadership experience with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling environment with evolving processes
- Awareness of defense industry dynamics, compliance requirements, or public-sector contracting is a plus
